  • OBAMA WILL GET RE-ELECTED. IT’S A CINCH. HE’LL CARRY ALL OF THE “PIG-IN-A-POKE” VOTERS. OBAMA AS A LAME DUCK PRESIDENT WILL BE A DISASTER. HE WILL FAST FORWARD HIS MARXIST-SOCIALIST AGENDA BECAUSE HE CANNOT RUN FOR PRESENT AGAIN UNLESS HE AMENDS THE CONSTITUTION AND RUNS TO BE PRESIDENT FOR LIFE. IF THAT HAPPENS GOD HELP ALL OF US. (I’LL MOVE NORTH & SPEND MY LAST DAYS IN THE LITTLE HAMLET OF APSLEY, ONTARIO, FISHING, HUNTING AND WALKING IN THE WOODS.

  • Joseph,

Look I agree he is at the bottom for great presidents. I agree he is a typical lying politician. I agree we had no hope and change. I agree he can not run on his record or accomplishments (how much is he touting the health care laws he let congress pass). I agree he has a leftist agenda. I agree he has waged war just as well as Bush, maybe better because the media does not call him on things like pissing on dead enemy fighters bodies. (sorry I cant call them soldiers)

BUT PLEASE TURN YOUR CAPS LOCK OFF!

  • The video in this post is perfect. The start Icon covers Obama’s mouth. It almost send the message “Shut Up”

  • Sorry Allen. I leave the caps lock on so I don’t have to shift. I’m just lazy, not pissed off. (Except for Obama, he pisses me off. He pisses me off badly. He gives me dyspepsia.)

  • I do like the start icon in the video post,it really does a good job of covering that jerks big mouth.

  • (1) This “Marxist-Socialist” just saw the Dow close at 13,000 yesterday. if this is what communism is, please give me more. My 401K is doing a lot better since the Republicans lost the White House.

    (2) I am not sure if you understand what the process is in order to amend the Constitution, but please go read it before making any more ridiculous comments about Obama’s desire to be “President for Life”.

  • I wonder where Alan’s band of merry far-left liberals are today? have they deserted him when he came to Artvoice?

@Mike—He said he would unite the country. It’s more divided now than ever. He said if we spent almost a trillion dollars, unemployment would never get above 8%—never got BELOW 8%. He said he would get the Congress to work together–the gridlock has never been worse. He said he would reduce the deficit—-he doubled it. He has yet to submit a balanced budget. He’s hired dozens of “Czars”–He has no regard for the Constitution. He has a dream of turning our democracy into a Socialist Worker’s Paradise, with him self as 1st Secretary and leader of the American Politburo. The Media is already behind him. We’ve lost thousands in Afghanistan since he was elected, but there are no weekly listings of the Dead and Wounded crossing MSM news reports like when Bush was President. He takes credit for the Surge that he spoke against as a senator, and was already going on in Afganistan before he was elected. Yesterday Jay Carney said what’s going on in Afghanistan in the light of the burning of Korans IS BUSH’S FAULT!!! That meme has to die, it’s been Barry’s war for 3 years. He’d LOVE to be President for Life, that’s why he’s such a big fan of Venezuela.

I think Joesph is being facetious about changing the constitution. It is every presidents quiet dream to be there for life. We needed a constitutional amendment (the 22nd amendment which Congress passed on March 21, 1947 just in case you want to tell me to read it) because of Roosevelt (D) who tried his best to implement the largest government possible, and ignored the tradition of prudent presidents from Washington on who understood that we needed to avoid President for life. There have been numerous attempts to appeal the 22nd they have always failed. The last attempt was introduced in congress by Jose Serrano and Barney Frank in 2009. However it can be said that Serrano just does not like it, he has tried repeatedly to repeal the amendment. This link from the official Congressional register:

As for the Market at 13K, I am a 2% who works with hedge funds and MSP (mortgage service providers) who bought pools of bad mortgages and need them re-scored. I regularly make trips to Wall Street. During last fall you would have thought wall street which gave us that 13k market was the scourge of the earth with all the lefty flea baggers camping out. I also remember when the Market hit 14k+ all time high during Bush the left told us how the presidents policies meant nothing, so let’s get consistent. By the way were smart enough to adjust your portfolio at Dow 14k? 1%ers and 2%ers recognize bubbles, we leave the loses for ideologues who think that the Dow is a measurement of their guy doing well.

  • “He wants to be president for life”
“He has a dream of turning our democracy into a Socialist Worker’s Paradise, with him self as 1st Secretary and leader of the American Politburo.”

You people sound insane. There are several legitimate criticisms of this president, but when I hear this crap, I just start worrying about your sanity.

And no one gave him credit for “causing” the Dow to hit 13K. However, you would think that his alleged Marxist/Socialist policies would have prevented this, no?

    • My favorite is a guy on the Facebook who posted how gas was $1.86/gallon when Obama took office, (Jan 2008) and it’s all his fault that it’s $4.00 now. It ignored the fact that the highest they had ever been was well over $4.00/gallon in June 2008, and plummeted the remainder of that year in response to the global economic meltdown. This person attributed the subsequent rise to Obama’s rescission of Bush, Jr.’s lifting of offshore drilling moratoria (this was in pre-BP spill times).

But a review of the facts reveals that the original moratoria that Bush, Jr. repealed had been put in place by his father in 1990. Those moratoria remained in place from 1990 – 2008. In that time, the average annual price of gas never, ever exceeded $1.50/gallon until 2004 – 14 years. In 2004, gas exceeded 1.50/gal, and then rose sharply from there – after the invasion of Iraq and removal of its oil from the market, and destabilization of the region. In that time we had Katrina, and the speculation Chris wrote about yesterday. India and China are growing rapidly and demanding more and more petroleum.

So, to blame recent oil prices on the re-institution of a drilling moratorium that had no effect on oil prices for 15 years, and hadn’t actually resulted in any further or additional exploitation for offshore oil, is, at best, disingenuous. At worst, it’s just revisionist history.

Obama is going to walk with this. It’s 1996 all over again. The only question now is whether Ron Paul will be 2012’s Ross Perot. Every Republican meltdown needs an assist from a nutty, diminutive Texan.

  • Somebody listens to too much Limbaugh. And believes his lies.

When someone plays the “czars” card (or the “teleprompter” card for that matter) you know you’re not dealing with an advanced intellect.

    OMG COMMIES:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._executive_branch_czars

Imagine if Exalted Hero Of Limbaugh Land (the magnificent George W Bush!) had extemporated off the cuff without a teleprompter.

    Hank, strive to do better.

  • @Alan Bedenko

I agree its all a bunch of Hooey about gas prices and Obama. What we need in the country is a long term energy policy. The problem is it was the same hooey with a different set of facts when Bush was president and we heard just as nutty and insane things then from people like Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Dick Durban and the rest of the bomb throwers.

1996 again? Maybe it could be 1980 all over again just as well. eight months in politics is an eternity. Four years ago everyone was sure it was Hillary and no way could a junior senator from Illinois with no voting record or past become president. Ron Paul third party? It appears that Santorum has one thing right, Paul and Romney are real chummy for some odd reason. Who knows maybe they are on the same crazy wavelength, possible deal for something like Treasury Secretary or something for his son Rand Paul? Either way I personally will do just fine regardless of whomevers insanity come out of the White house.

  • @Mike

Yes Socialist maybe over the top rhetoric. We all know that democrats would never do that right??? One thing for sure is that Obama believes in government solutions to a lot of problems.

President for life? Like I said the only one that tried it was Franklin Roosevelt a democrat. Let me restate that, he did not try it he succeeded at president for life. He was also a big government president. Since the 22nd amendment passed there have been almost 20 bills from congress to repeal it.

Let’s be honest we may not have president for life but we do have congress for life. Robert Byrd and strom thurmond looked like walking corpses, Louise Slaughter is getting there real fast, she has run out of face lifts.

  • “Hank, strive to do better.”

    Ummm…yeah, about that….

  • @Mike

You gave him credit for 13k. Are you telling us you are a nobody?

You are somewhat correct, there is never really one reason for market movements, especially long sustained ones like during the period from 1980-2000 (yes I am including Clinton a good business friendly president) A lot of the movement now is because wall street is starting to think that Obama will win and they are factoring that in. Wall street loves predictability, they can adjust to almost any situation when they feel the future is known. The economy is rebounding at a very anemic rate, in 2013 the so called Bush tax cuts will go away and become one of the largest tax increases in history, also Obama care taxes will start to kick in as well. Mark my words, I bet you start to see a lot of sideways movement again in the market.

  • @BBilk

I think you are the one who listens to Limbaugh too much. You seem to find a lot of limbaugh/fox news comparisons to people you disagree with.

  • Hank I think that ‘Alans Band of Merry far left liberals’ were at work when you made that comment.

Oops administration official admits they are ok with high gas prices? This from a congressional hearing right from the horses mouth, not limbaugh or fox news

  • “Czars”

  • @Miller . Those remarks were made by Chu 3 years ago. He was not even a part of the administration at the time. Maybe you should subscribe to Politico and keep current.

  • @saltecks

They were made yesterday you idiot
