Typical.
It’s typically Buffalo that we can’t just have one #Occupy group in town, but we have Occupy Buffalo in Niagara Square, and Occupy WNY in Lafayette Square.
We love to needlessly duplicate efforts in almost all things.

We have had enough of the unfocused. This puts gypsies on Main street where they can now confront workers just trying to earn a living. This isn’t Vietnam protests, BofA fees, etc but some mysterious group that has jobs. Many of us expected the cold weather to cure the ardor. Stop Norquist and his blood oath hold on perfectly normal Republicans and change the tax rates for some of the higher levels. A study should show what the average gross income numbers are for Congressmen and Congresswomen, then raise tax rates above that level.They don’t want a millionaire’s tax because some are millionaires.
The local media (especially WBEN) is gleefully reporting this schism within the Occupy ranks. In other words, “these people are crackpots you should not be paying attention to. Now, go contact your representatives and tell them that you will not stand for Obama’s oppression of billionaires.”
Amazing how many average people are actively rooting against Occupy.
Who cares how many occupy camps there are? The more the better. We are a diverse society and there are many reasons to become occupy messengers. Wolpac, Nothing about it is unfocused, unless your mind doesn’t let you focus on the many complex messages of the occupy movements. Maybe you are listening to the de-focused messages coming out of much of the media. Occupy the public space. Use whatever soapboxes we can find to speak out. Mike-It is amazing how many people root against occupiers. These people are helping us all to both understand the problems confronting local and global societies and to work toward solutions. Wolfpack-Calling them gypsies is disingenuous and an ad hominem attack on genuine people that are willing to risk a lot to help us all find a way to a better life. We have problems. We the people can find solutions. They are not “confronting” workers just trying to make a living. They are trying to help workers make a living. You are right about Norquist, but those “perfectly normal republicans” signed it, right? Personal responsibility and all?
Not only do the amazing dimwits on WBEN “all propaganda all the time” proselytize about the made up schism, but other local does as media as well. Controversy sells soup, right, and some of our people drink it, like, ah, Kool aide. Watching Dave McKinley gin up the “schism” the other night on Channel 2 was embarrassing for him, but, hey, the redcoats sell soup and it is really hard, I guess, to be embarrassed if you work for Channel 2, or WBEN, or if you are an apologist for the 1%.
I sometimes think it’s a particularly Buffalonian disease to let multiple people or entities do a job less effectively than a single group or entity could do in a unified way.
There are no less than a total of 263 paper studies conducted by research institutions and academia, each paid for with tax money right out of the pockets of friendly and wise rich people, proving that point is incorrect … whatever that point is.
I repeat again –

sounds very efficient and all Alan. Maybe we need to speak with one voice rather than have, you know, a thousand points of light. There certainly are too many arts and cultural organizations with that Buffalo disease arent there? Too many libraries. Maybe we should even weed out the decisionmakers and voters that have caught this Buffalo disease. Oh. we are already doing that when we downsize our representation. Sounds like its tea time at Artvoice. By the way alan, do you mind if I take over your voice. more efficient if I can speak for you, you know, as a single unified entity.
No reason to have a debate here. It gets real messy when more than one person is talking. And i have no idea what dr newcleon is saying, do you? Maybe he can repeat that. MIKE CHECK!
Hello Mike Check: Nice to chat with you!
To wit: Too many “Occupys” are like too many IDAs.
If I said it once, I’d like to not be redundant over and again but since Mike Check asked, here tis;

Too many #Occupys are like too many IDAs or, like having too many toes. It’s kind of cool and helps you balance and all but people will give you really strange looks at the beach if you wear sandals.
